Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 31, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Genga Anime List, operated by its founders ("Genga", "the Operators"), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Genga Anime List service (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make a site work, to keep you signed in, and — in some cases — to measure usage or show advertising.
Cookies we use today
The Service currently uses only strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Service to function and do not require your consent.
| Purpose | Set by | Type | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication / session | Supabase (our auth provider) | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in and secures your session |
We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or other tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party marketing pixels.
Local storage and similar technologies
We use your browser's local storage and a service worker for functionality — for example, remembering interface preferences and delivering push notifications you have turned on. These store data on your device but are not used for tracking or advertising.
Embedded content
Some title pages embed a YouTube player for trailers. We load it in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode
(youtube-nocookie.com), which is designed not to set cookies unless you play the video. If you
play a trailer, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and process data under
Google's privacy policy.
Cookies we may add in the future
If we introduce analytics (for example, to understand how features are used) or advertising, we will use additional, non-essential cookies. Before setting any non-essential cookies, we will:
- update this Policy to list each cookie, its provider, and its purpose; and
- where required by law (including the EU/UK ePrivacy rules), ask for your consent through a cookie banner before those cookies are set, and let you change your choice at any time.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Because the cookies we use today are strictly necessary, blocking them may prevent you from signing in or using the Service.
Changes
We will update this Policy when our use of cookies changes and revise the "Last updated" date above.
